    VA Beach
        #         #

Somtimes, when it's been years since you've seen the ocean with your own two eyes, you have to make a day trip to make sure it's still there.  Knic and I went on an expedition last June and found the Atlantic still crashing against the shore.  All was well in the cosmos.

    Sky-beach-line.

    I was really there.

    McAffee's Knob     #     Cascades     #     Maggie Valley

    McAffee's Knob
A Healthy 7-mile hike on the AT from the Catawba Mountain crossing at Rte 311 will bring you to this destination.  A veritable mecca for hikers in the area, McAffee's Knob is well worth the uphill trudge.

    Maggie Valley
Venture alongside John's Creek in Craig County on Rte. 623 some late summer evening, and you'll see some of the most beautiful scenery in southwest Virginia.

    Cascades
You've seen a billion pictures of the falls themselves.  It's time some other stuff got fame and glory up there.

    A critter.

Ok, here's a peek at the falls.

That's where the water goes after it falls down the rocks.
